Problem Statement: Cyber Security Awareness
The world is growing today at a very increasing rate than ever. The main reason that contributes to this rapid growth is the discoveries and innovation in science and technology. With the developments in technology, computer and internet is one of the most important resources that has made everyday lives easier. But liker everything, computers and internet with it pros, also comes with some cons.

| Inferences and Findings of the Survey on Use of Internet and Awareness of cybercrime |
One of the most harmful consequence of these development is cyber crime. With the growing populations getting access to the cyberspace, there exist people in large number who are connected to the cyberspace for the evils. It has become easier to learn the use of the internet, but the threats remain unknown to majority of population. Hence there is a need of a Cyber Security Platform to aware people about the possible threats on the 'magical wand' called internet. Shadow Space is one such initiative to that helps people be aware of the dark sides of the internet, and help them with the solution if any threat finds the user's way.
To design such a platform, a survey was conducted that got responses from over 300 people of different age groups within 2.5 hours asking them about their reason of access to internetand hours spent on internet and their awareness and experiences with such crimes and threats.

Following were the finding and inferences of the survey.
After the survey, an initial flow chart of the cyber security platform was designed that would help the users on the internet to get awareness of the possible threats on the internet as well as detect the possible threats whenever the user goes online.

After general scribbling a low fidelity prototype was designed using pen and paper medium. The Low fidelity prototype had few detailed interfaces of the application occurring at different stages. the Following are the low fidelity prototype of the platform.

All the
previous stages lead to the birth of the Shadow Spaces - Cyber Security
Platform.
The
main home page of the platform enlists the different types of cybercrimes
that can occur on the internet whenever a user goes online. Each type is then
further explained in detail, giving the solution to the users if they come
across such threat.
The Home
Page also contains a trending ribbon that helps the cyber population to stay
up-to-date with the various threats that float in numbers all over the
internet globally. A friendlier user dedicated chat and discussion forum is
also a part of the main homepage of The Shadow Space platform where the user
can interact with other users and experts for staying updated about the
possible threats and their solutions.
Besides
keeping people aware about the possible cyber threats and crimes and keeping
them up to date with the latest threats, the platform comes as a plugin for
all the major internet accessing applications to track all the threats on the
internet simultaneously while the user is accessing the internet for various
reasons.
The
platform runs as a 10mm customization ribbon on the right side of the screen
as a plugin to internet accessing application. The ribbon remains green under
normal circumstances and turns red as soon as a threat or malware is detected
online. The ribbon doesn't interferes with the other part of the screen even
on detection of threat and malware unless the user wants to know more about
it.
After
the user clicks on the red ribbon, the ribbon expands and briefs about the
threat or malware detected online. Now this expanded ribbon gives a brief
review about the threat and malware and an immediate solution for it. The
expanded ribbon also contains comments of top users or experts on the
detection of similar threat or malware.
The user can know more about the
threat or malware by clicking on the expanded ribbon and know more option. After
the expanded ribbon is being clicked, the ribbon redirects the user to the
main platform where user can read about the detected thread in detail and
find the solutions of it. This page would also contain the trending articles
about this particular threat and malware and a refined chat/discussion forum
for this particular problem.
This screen can then be shut off by clicking on the close button or user can return to the home page by clicking on the back/home button.

The following interactive video further explains the need and process of designing such Shadow Spaces, The Global Cyber Security Platform and how the platform works, aware users of the threats and malware and updates them with latest ones and lets them join the chat/discussion forums.
