We the ARTISTAS are a team of five young aspiring architects.
We took part in the Design360 competition held at IIIT,Delhi on the 24th of March,2017.
 It was an overnight product design competition which lasted for over sixteen hours. In this competition we were given a problem based on 'Fake News' and we were asked to provide a solution to this ever so rising issue via different mediums.
We were given deadlines during the event.
1.1:00 am-25th March,2017-In this stage we were supposed to put forth our ideation via general scribbling in order to achieve a solution to the problem and identify our users.Consequently we decided to conduct an online survey which was contextual in nature.Based on the responses received via the surveys we analysed the results and extracted the useful data out of it in the form of bar graphs and pie charts and drew inferences.The questions included aimed at achieving answers to different problems that occur while transmission of fake news at different platforms.At the end we prepared an A3 sheet which comprised of our ideas on so as to how to curb the problem along with the analysis of the surveys.
2.3.00 am-25th March,2017-In this stage we were supposed to prepare the affinity diagrams wherein the data was organised from the survey and contextual inquiry achieved with the help of realtimeboard.com.The affinity diagrams depicted the relationship between the end users,their problems and the possible solutions achieved by thorough brainstorming.
3.5.00 am- 25th March,2017-In this stage we were asked to prepare a pen paper prototype which provided the initial solution to the issue with the help of low fidelity design.
Our main idea was to design an app/platform wherein the app would automatically become a part of all the other apps which were a plausible source of spreading the fake news without hindering any other process.Before the opening of any News,the app on it's own will detect the percentage of the fake content and then redirect the concerned app to the reliable resource thereby preventing it to spread.
4.10.00 am-25th March,2017-In this stage we reiterated on our designs and formed a high fidelity prototype using the Proto.io application.In the High Fidelity Prototype,we tried to bridge all the gaps that were occurring previously in the LFP..
As we all know spreading of fake news has become a major issue in the society today and there's a dire need to put forward methods to prevent it.Thus using our app 'FILTER PAPER',the chances of spreading of such news will reduce.The app will work at two levels.
First,as soon as the news gets published,the application will scan it and generate the amount of fake content and will be displayed on the app so that it creates an impact on the minds of the readers and prevent them from believing on anything that is put up on the social media.
Second,when anybody will try to share the content,the app will automatically run through a scan and block the user from sharing it further thereby reducing the scope of spreading.
In this way the users will get attached to the application for most of the times to prevent themselves from being deceived in any manner be it in the form of news or any other published content.
All in all it was a great experience altogether.
